Now that all voting is over for ladies' night of American Idol Season 12, I was curious how the total votes cast at DialIdol compared to the past two seasons. I have the raw scores for last night above and the graphs from Seasons 10 and 11 below:
Season 10 |
Season 11 |
This year the number of total votes cast using DialIdol continues to fall with less than 15,000 total votes cast, an almost 40% drop from last year and barely more than a third of the usage from Season 10. The only contestant with any significant busy signals was Angela Miller with 255 of the 337 total busy signals (along with being the highest vote receiver at 3,078.) Excluding Angela there were only 82 busy signals last night. Janelle Arthur, for example, received over 3,000 votes but only had 4 busy signals which is an incredibly low number for that number of votes. Despite the significantly lower number of votes cast, though, that is more busy signals than in Season 11 when there were only 245 for the week with 12 ladies, but if you subtract Jessica's 139 that left 106 busy signals for the other 11 contestants which is fairly similar.
Pretty much all we can determine in terms of results from DialIdol from last night is that Angie Miller is most likely safe. And since Janelle and Kree Harrison both also received around 3,000 votes each they probably have enough power voters to help get them to the Top 10. What I will be very curious to see is how many votes are cast tonight for the guys who I consider to be much less interesting than the girls this year. Last year over 28,000 votes were cast for the guys versus 24,000 for the gals, and in Season 10 both nights were fairly even at about 40,000 votes cast each night.
