American Idol Album Sales Tally - Early March 2013 Edition
Even though tonight is the exciting first night of voting on Season 12 of American Idol. I thought I should update my total sales chart for the Idols who already have albums for sale. I posted the BillBoard ranks last week, but did not publish the final weekly sales numbers until this last weekend. Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away" led the group with 14K in sales to bring her total to 1.323M, with Kelly Clarkson (13K for 298K total) and Phillip Phillips (13K for 725K total) close on her heals. Kelly also had her "Stronger" album still in the Top 200 with 4K more in sales to bring its total to 1.035M. That gives Kelly 17K in sales for the week, and Carrie actually had an additional 5K in sales from "Play On", "Some Hearts" and "Carnival Ride" combined to bring her total sales to about 19K. Colton Dixon's "A Messenger" sold another 4K this week to bring his total to 42K, and another Christian artist, Mandisa, saw a nice jump in her album sales, selling 2K more of "What If We Were Real" to bring its total to a very respectable 252K. Two other country Idols whose albums have been out a long time continue to see steady sales as well. Scotty McCreery's "Clear As Day" sold yet another 1K in sales to bring his total to 1.159M, now two years since we were first able to vote for him in Season 10. And Season 9's Casey James continues to see slow but steady album sales with about 1K in sales bringing his total probably slightly over 71K (they posted 71K for him last week!)
