Today was just the preliminary Black Friday sales chart from Hits Daily Double, and four American Idol winners are on the Top 50 list, with one of them there twice! Leading the pack, as expected, is Phillip Phillips, at #2 behind Rihanna. His early estimates are already over 140K, so he is poised for a very strong opening for "World From the Side of the Moon".
The other Idols on the list all saw very strong Black Friday sales boosts. Next comes Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away" at #10 with big sales of over 58K. She has a good chance of blasting past the official one million sales number for the week. Next on the list is Kelly Clarkson's "Greatest Hits - Vol 1" at #12 with sales of over 50K. "Stronger" fell out of the Top 200 last week (after 55 weeks), but appears to be back on the chart again at #33 with over 15K in sales, closing in on the one million mark herself. That is two albums in the Top 40 for Kelly this week. Finally on the chart is "Christmas With Scotty McCreery" at #18 which saw a nice boost in sales with over 30K more already posted. That puts Scotty's Christmas album sales at over 150K, and makes it a "sales success" at this point no matter how you look at it. I think all the American Idol winners can say they had a good 2012 Thanksgiving weekend!
