The Pinnacle Sports site has updated the betting odds for the remaining four contestants on American Idol, and the contest is definitely tightening up. For now I will update my betting odds charts with only Pinnacle's odds to see how they look:
Hollie Cavanagh is acting like Haley Reinhart did last year, spending practically every week in the Bottom 2 or 3, but refusing to go home. Now she has made it into the Top 4, but she is still the long shot to win at 21.12 to 1 odds. Joshua Ledet continues to see his odds improve, where at 3:53:1 he sees his lowest odds of the season and he is closing in on the leading favorites. Jessica Sanchez has seen her odds stay very consistent, 2.85:1 which is pretty much where she was at the beginning of the week. Phillip Phillips continues to lead the pack but sees his odds shift quite a bit to 2.35:1 compared to 1.27:1 at the beginning of the week. He is the only one seeing his odds increasing this week.
I think a lot of viewers are getting tired of the ease at which Phillip stays out of the Bottom 2 or 3 with such lackluster performances. I think just about everyone (including Phillip himself) must realize that Hollie, Jessica and Joshua are all superior vocalists to Phillip, but that does not matter. He has a large block of fans that love him and will vote non-stop for him despite his same old, awful performances on the show.
