Walmart EP Preliminary Sales Stats

The Top 4 from American Idol Season 10 have their "Highlights" EP's now available for pre-order at Walmart.com and the site includes the very interesting statistics for "What Was Ultimately Purchased By People Who Viewed This Item". It shows what percentage of the people who looked at a particular page actually purchased. First I will list the numbers for each of the four pages as of right now (Thursday, June 23 at 9:20am Central time):

1) Scotty McCreery's EP page: 55% Scotty, 12% Lauren, 10% James, 10% Haley
2) Lauren Alaina's EP page: 33% Scotty, 23% Lauren, 14% James, 14% Haley
3) Haley Reinhart's EP page: 57% Haley, 15% Scotty, 12% James, 6% Lauren
4) James Durbin's EP page: 30% Scotty, 24% James, 24% Haley, 12% Lauren

The first obvious statistically abnormality is that on both Lauren and James pages, more people ended up buying Scotty's EP than the EP of the artist the page is trying to sell! So Scotty is the top seller on all the pages except Haley's where he is second. So it is pretty obvious that Scotty's EP will be the best seller of the four, but trying to rank the other 3 are a big tougher. Also interesting is that on both Scotty and Lauren's pages, Haley and James are literally tied in the number of sales. I am guessing therefore that those two will have very similar sales numbers. The big question for me is Lauren, who seems to sell higher than James and Haley on Scotty's page (who probably has the most hits of all) but who is dead last in sales on both Haley's and James's pages. However, since she has the lowest percentage of viewers on her own page that buy her own EP, I am guessing that Lauren may be the current lowest seller of all (in pre-orders at least.) Her percentage on Scotty's page is only 12% which is not that much higher than the other two. So my guess of the ranking of current pre-order sales on the four EP's is:
  1) Scotty 2) Haley 3) James 4) Lauren
And I think Haley and James will see very similar sales, and Lauren will only be slightly below them. The CD's will ship next week so sales results will not be available until the first week of July. I will be interested to see how they all do.
