Well, since we are not sure how well the American Idol Season 12 finalists will do in sales, I can still keep track of the previous Idols on the charts. I missed the
numbers last week so I will post them now! There were actually seven Idols on the BillBoard 200 last week, which is a lot of them to cover. The two that jumped back on the chart were both Christian artists which should be a sign for Angie Miller if she wants some long term success! Colton Dixon popped back on at #172 with 3,000 more in sales to take his total now to a nice even 100K in sales. And Mandisa's "What If We Were Real" jumped back on as well to #155 with 3K in sales and an impressive sales number of 269K for a Grammy nominated album released two years ago in April 2011. I cannot believe Angie is not going the Christian route. Angie, would you rather see a sales trajectory like Mandisa or Jessica Sanchez?
And speaking of Jessica, her "Me, You & the Music" album sold 4K more last week to bring her total to 17K in two weeks at #135 on the chart. The other 4 Idols on the chart are all winners, and all placing in the top 100:
#18, Fantasia, "Side Effects of You", 22K weekly, 149K total
#50, Phillip Phillips, "The World From the Side of the Moon", 10K weekly, 871K total
#53, Carrie Underwood, "Blown Away", 9k weekly, 1.438M total
#54 Kelly Clarkson, "Greatest Hits - Chapter 1", 9K weekly, 415K total
It is pretty impressive how Carrie and Kelly's albums have stayed so incredibly close together in sales for so many weeks.
