I was curious if Season 12 "post Lazaro" would still have the same voting activity after the last male contestant left the show. In terms of total votes cast on DialIdol from last week and this week, the total number actually slightly increased, from 18.66K to 18.89K. But interestingly with about the same number of votes over 10 instead of 12 phone lines, the number of busy signals actually dropped down, from 313 last week to only 192 this week. And this week Angie Miller did not have the highest number of busy signals, it was Kree Harrison this time with 43 + 26 = 69 total busy signals. Angie was just barely in second with 44 + 12 = 56, with Amber Holcomb almost tied with her at 32 + 32 = 55 busy signals. Here is my graph of the busy signal counts since Top 10 week. Angie (red column) has always been one of the two contestants with the most busy signals, but for the second week in a row now she has been #2 (she was behind Lazaro last week!) The yellow column notes the number of busy signals for the other contestant in the Top 2 busy signal receivers for the week. Note that Top 6 week was the first one with two lines for each contestant.
The WhatNotToSing ratings does not bring Janelle any good news either. Without Lazaro to cement down the basement of bad performances, Janelle's ratings of 36 and 40 do not look too promising in comparison. All the other contestants mixed up stronger and weaker performances. If we average the two performances for each contestant:
- Candice: 74 + 65 = 139 => 69.5 Average
- Kree: 68 + 63 = 131 => 65.5 Average
- Angie: 73 + 51 = 124 => 62 Average
- Amber: 70 + 41 = 111 => 55.5 Average
- Janelle: 40 + 36 = 76 => 38 Average
