Poor Devin Velez was the loser last week sent home on American Idol, but the
big winner for the week was Season 11 seventh place finalist Colton Dixon. After his performance on the results show, Colton saw sales for his "A Messenger" album increase almost 300% to 14K, putting him at #41 on the
BillBoard album chart, his highest placement and highest sales since
his debut week (#15 with 22K.) Three Amercan Idol winners are also in the BillBoard 100, led by Phillip Phillips' "World From the Side of the Moon" (#23 with 21K for a total of 813K), then Kelly Clarkson's "Greatest Hits" collection right next to Colton at #42 (14K for a total of 355K) and Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away" at #55 (11K in sales for a total of 1.377M.) Two previous runners-up debuted in the Top 200 as well, with
Crystal Bowersox's "All That For This" at #71 with 8K in sales and David Archuleta's "No Matter How Far" at #110 with 5K in sales. I will add Crystal and Archie to my graph next week if they can stay in the Top 200 next week. With Casey James and Carrie Underwood both appearing on the show tonight, they both should also see a nice boost next week in sales.
