Bovada has updated their betting odds to now include just the Top 10 remaining contestants on American Idol Season 12.
Their previous odds earlier this week were pretty good at predicting who would stay and who would be eliminated as (excluding Aubrey Cleland) their 8 top favorites all made it through, and their 6 with the lowest odds were all eliminated. They also had 3 contestants as 25/1 long shots, and 2 of those were also eliminated (only Curtis Finch Jr. survived). This week the ordering remains much the same with only some jockeying in the middle. I have again created my own chart with last weeks odds combined (and sorted on) this weeks odds to see how the betting world thinks of the chances for all the contestants:
Angela Miller and Kree Harrison continue to be the favorites with Janelle Arthur right behind them. Burnell Taylor had been the guy with the best odds earlier this week, but now he is second to the highest odds right behind Curtis (the current long shot). Lazaro Arbos is now the guy with the lowest odds. With the number of contestants cut in half everybody's odds should have gone down, and anyone who has not (Amber Holcomb, Paul Jolley, Burnell) should worry that others are gaining momentum on them. The four contestants with the least odds of winning now are all guys. In fact if you look at the gender division in order, it is 3 gals (Angie, Kree, Janelle), then a guy and a gal tied (Candice Glover, Lazaro), then the last gal (Amber), and then all 4 remaining guys (Devin Velez, Paul Jolley, Burnell, Curtis.) This is what the producers wanted, right?
