American Idol Season 12 - Top 20 "What Not To Sing" Summary

My favorite American Idol online database, What Not To Sing, now has preliminary scores up for the 10 guy performances form last night, so now I could combine them with the ladies and their scores from last week to produce the pretty graph above. It is sorted based on the WNTS score for this week, but also includes each contestant's score from last week as well. Looking at the graph it is easy to pick some obvious folks who should be in the Top 10, and some that should obviously go home. The easy picks are the top 6 of Candice Glover, Kree Harrison, Angela Miller, Burnell Taylor, Amber Holcomb and Devin Velez. Those six have been consistently solid the past two weeks with likable performances, especially compared to the others. There are also three I would definitely discard without any remorse, those being Zoanette Johnson, Charlie Askew and Tenna Torres. There are three others on the edge of being easily disposable but show enough promise to not be so quickly dismissed: Adriana Latonio, Elijah Liu and Cortez Shaw. With the need to eliminate 10 individuals tonight, however, I think all six may be history.

That leaves the 8 in the middle with 4 more spaces to fill, 3 guys and only 1 gal. That is a problem since there are three capable girls competing for that last spot (Janelle Arthur, Breanna Steer, Aubrey Cleland) yet only 5 guys competing for 3 spots (Nick Boddington, Paul Jolley, Lazaro Arbos, Curtis Finch Jr. and Vincent Powell.) I think Lazaro is a lock to grab one of those spots which means Nick, Paul, Curtis and Vincent have a 50/50 shot for the last 2 guy spots. It will be interesting to see who ends up going on tour and on through to the next round tonight.
