Phillip Phillips' "World from the Side of the Moon" continues to sell quite well even into the dead of January, leading all the other American Idol winners. His sales actually increased from last week to 63K (from 58K) increasing his BillBoard chart position to #4 and putting him almost to 600K in total sales. Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away" saw a slight decrease in sales with 23K but stays very steady on the charts with a third week at #22 and a total of 1.226M (I had to increase the maximum on my chart for her!) Kelly Clarkson's "Greatest Hits" saw only a slight decrease in sales with 16K more to bring her total to 211K and improve her chart position to #35, her best position in 4 weeks.

The album with the biggest drop off moving into January is not surprisingly "Christmas With Scotty McCreery" which only sold another 1K in sales to being its SoundScan tallied total to 349K and it dropped completely off the BillBoard 200. His Christmas album was even outsold by his own "Clear As Day" which sold another 2K to move up to 1.151M. Scotty may have to wait until November 2013 to sell much more of his Christmas album! What is truly astounding about Scotty's SoundScan sales numbers for his two albums is that they add up exactly to 1.500 million now, not just close to it, but precisely on the nose, 1.151 + 0.349M = 1.500M. Scary!

I noticed Brian's album list included some other American Idol albums I had not seen in a while, including Lauren Alaina's "Wildflower" which sold about 1,000 to reach a total of 303K (I was wondering when it broke 300K.) Also there is Casey James who continues to add several hundred more sales every week to now be up to 66K. Casey Abrams is even listed with his total sales of 21K.
