After such a strong holiday sales seasons for American Idol winners named Phillip, Carrie, Scotty and Kelly, 2013 is being kind to some of them and not so kind to others. On the
BillBoard 200, Phillip Phillips' "World from the Side of the Moon" slipped just a little from #7 to #11, and Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away" actually stayed steady at #22. But understandably, "Christmas With Scotty McCreery" dropped from #32 to #87 now that nobody really cares for Christmas albums, and Kelly Clarkson's "Greatest Hits" has dropped from #40 to #62 and "Stronger" is still at #187 after being #173 last week. Roughstock
posted real numbers for country album sales so we can get hard numbers for Scotty and Carrie. "Blown Away" sold 37K more to reach 1.203M and "Christmas with Scotty McCreery" sold another 12K to reach 348K.
This BillBoard article mentioned the #10 album "Pitch Perfect" sold 58K so Phillip must have sold just a little less than that amount. I will give him 50K for now just to be nice and to fill in my graph, putting him at about 525K total. Since Kelly is at #62 between Scotty and Blake Shelton on the Roughstock list, I will guess about 15K for her to put her total to about 193K for her greatest hits album.
