American Idol Season 12 Over - Only Winners Remain on BillBoard Album Chart

orange = Colton, red = Jessica, green = Fantasia, blue = Phillip, purple = Kelly, black = Carrie
It is only fitting that the week after American Idol ends Season 12, after a week where seven Idols were on the BillBoard 200 chart, the 3 non-winners have disappeared leaving only the winners from Seasons 1, 3, 4, and 11 still on the chart. Colton Dixon's "A Messenger" (orange line) dropped back off the Top 200 after jumping on it last week. Similarly Mandisa's "What If We Were Real" had a one week visit back on the chart last week, and Jessica Sanchez (red line) sees her "Me, You & The Music" album drop off the Top 200 after only two weeks on it.

Leading the chart in her fourth week on is Fantasia, whose "Side Effects of You" sold another 15K to land at #24 and bringing her four week total to 164K. Next is Phillip Phillip's TWFTSOTM with 8K at #52 after 6 full months and a total sales of 879K. Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood continue to sell as always, Kelly with 7K this week (#60 for 422K total) and Carrie with 6K (#66 with 1.444M sold.)

Can Candice Glover hope to see the kind of long term sales other winners have enjoyed? Can she sell like Kelly, Carrie or Fantasia? We will see in a couple months when her "Music Speaks" is released in July. Good luck, Candice!
