Another Week of Phillip and Scotty in the BillBoard Top 15 Albums

From the Hits Daily Double Estimates, it appears next week will have the second straight week where both Phillip Phillip's "World from the Side of the Moon" and "Christmas from Scotty McCreery" will be among the top 15 selling albums in the country. In fact since Phillip's release both him and Scotty have been in the top 25. I wondered when was the last time this had happened for back to back winners? I know it definitely did not happen over the last three seasons (Scotty & Lee, Lee & Kris, Kris & David C.)
CWSM = orange, WFTSOTM = green, BA = dark blue, KC GH = light blue
With the estimated sales numbers for next week, Phillip should break the 300K plateau and Scotty should pass up 250K. Those are great numbers for both of them. Interestingly for Scotty, he has now sold over 1.5 million total albums (if you include EP's and compilations) which moves him to #7 among all American Idol contestants. The six Idols ahead of him have all sold over 2 million total albums each: Carrie, Kelly, Daughtry, Clay, Fantasia and Reuben. Using Phillp's low end estimate of 65K for next week would put at 440K total album sales, putting him already at #20 on that list after just 3 weeks of sales of his debut. Both Scotty and Phillip are definitely having a happy (and busy) holiday season in 2012!
